Vol. 220 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reorganisation of Creamery Industry.

28.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he is yet in a position to make a statement on the proposed re-organisation of the creamery industry.

The further discussions to which I referred in my reply to the Deputy's question of 14th December are still proceeding and it is hoped that re-organisation proposals will shortly be available for consideration by the creamery societies.

Will the Minister for Agriculture say approximately what the word "shortly" means in this context?

Within a matter of weeks.

Because, as the Minister is no doubt aware, considerable malaise is being spread in the IAOS and the cooperative movement generally. The Minister says “within a matter of weeks”?

Within a matter of weeks, I would hope.
