Vol. 221 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Blackrock (Dublin) Controlled Crossing.

29.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether, in view of the demand for a controlled crossing at Temple Hill, Blackrock, County Dublin, he will make the necessary recommendation for its provision.

The provision of pedestrian crossings is a matter for the local authority concerned, at the request, or with the consent of the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána. Proposals in the matter come before my Department only when a grant towards the work is sought.

I understand that, at present, the need for a pedestrian crossing at Temple Hill, Blackrock, is being examined by the Dún Laoghaire Corporation and the Garda Síochána, but as yet no proposal has been received in my Department.
