Vol. 222 No. 10

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Kilmainham (Dublin) Flooding.

26.

(Dublin) asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state, in view of the bad flooding that occurred in Carrigfoyle Terrace, Kilmainham, Dublin during recent heavy rains, if it is the corporation's intention to clean the Camac river and erect a wall at this point.

I am informed by Dublin Corporation that they clean the Camac river from Tyrconnell Road to Kingsbridge at regular intervals, the last occasion being in September, 1965, when the river was cleared of all obstructions and left in a clean state. I understand that the corporation have no current proposals for the erection of a wall at Carrickfoyle Terrace.
