Vol. 222 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Extension of Insurance Ages.

14.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will introduce legislation to provide that all persons be fully insurable as from the date of commencement of work, irrespective of age.

Under the existing compulsory provisions of the Social Welfare Acts, insurance whether for full or limited benefits is confined to persons between the ages of 16 and 70 years and its extension to persons outside those age limits is not at present contemplated.
