asked the Minister for Finance the estimated total cost to the State of granting to its employees earning less than £1,200 per year an increase of £1 per week for men and 15/- per week for women.

The cost to the State of granting to its employees earning less than £1,200 per year an increase of £1 per week for men and 15/- per week for women would be about £2.4 million a year.

Where does the Minister intend to get it? Will we have an autumn Budget?

That is a matter for consideration by me and the Government.

I hope they will consider it.
