Written Answers. - Payments from Social Insurance Fund.

25.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of each of the years ended 31st March, 1959 to 1965, inclusive, the amounts paid from the Social Insurance Fund in respect of disability benefit for (1) married women over 18 years, dependent upon their husbands, (2) other women and men over 18 years, (3) persons under 18 years entitled to an increase for a dependant, (4) persons under 18 years not so entitled, (5) adult dependants, (6) first qualified child, (7) second qualified child, (8) third qualified child, (9) fourth qualified child, (10) fifth qualified child, (11) sixth qualified child, (12) seventh qualified child, (13) eighth qualified child, (14) ninth qualified child, and (15) other qualified children.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of each of the years ended 31st March, 1959 to 1965, inclusive, the amounts paid from the Social Insurance Fund in respect of unemployment benefit for (1) married women over 18 dependent upon their husbands, (2) other women and men over 18 years, (3) persons under 18 years entitled to an increase for a dependant, (4) persons under 18 not so entitled, (5) adult dependants, (6) first qualified child, (7) second qualified child, (8) third qualified child, (9) fourth qualified child, (10) fifth qualified child, (11) sixth qualified child, (12) seventh qualified child, (13) eighth qualified child, (14) ninth qualified child, and (15) other qualified children.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of each of the years ended 31st March, 1959 to 1965, inclusive, the amounts paid from the Social Insurance Fund in respect of contributory widows' pensions for (1) widows without children, (2) widows with a child or children, (3) increases in respect of first child, (4) increases in respect of second child, (5) increases in respect of third child, (6) increases in respect of fourth child, (7) increases in respect of fifth child, (8) increases in respect of sixth child, (9) increases in respect of seventh child, (10) increases in respect of eighth child, (11) increases in respect of ninth child and (12) increases in respect of other children.

28.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of each of the years ended 31st March, 1959 to 1965, inclusive, the amounts paid from the Social Insurance Fund in respect of contributory old age pensions (1) for pensioner at maximum rate, (2) for pensioner at lower rates, (3) for wife or invalid husband of pensioner at maximum rate, (4) for wife or invalid husband of pensioner at other rates, (5) in respect of first qualified child, (6) in respect of second qualified child and (7) in respect of other qualified children.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 25, 26, 27 and 28 together. A breakdown of expenditure under the headings in the questions is not available in my Department. It is not possible, therefore, to furnish information regarding benefit expenditure out of the Social Insurance Fund in the form requested.

Total expenditure on each benefit for the years in question is available in the published Accounts of the Social Insurance Fund.

29.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of each of the years ended 31st March, 1959 to 1965, inclusive, the amount paid from the Social Insurance Fund in respect of treatment benefit for (1) dental treatment and dentures, (2) spectacles and contact lenses, including any necessary eye examination and (3) hearing aids.

The particulars are as follows:

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of each of the years ended 31st March, 1959 to 1965, inclusive, the amounts paid from the Social Insurance Fund in respect of wet-time benefit to (1) skilled workers, (2) unskilled workers and (3) younger persons under eighteen years.

Wet-time benefit is paid from the Supplementary Unemployment Fund and not from the Social Insurance Fund. The information regarding amounts paid in respect of the different classes of workers is as follows:
