asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received representations from cigarette manufacturers in Dublin that bonded warehouses for tobacco be sited away from the docks area; and if he will accede to the request.

The siting of bonded warehouses is a matter for settlement between trade interests and the Customs and Excise authorities. It would not be appropriate to disclose particulars of applications for bonding facilities received from individual traders; however, it may be taken that there is no objection in principle to the siting of bonded warehouses elsewhere than in dock areas and each application is dealt with on its merits.
