Vol. 223 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Deputations from Nursing Services.

31.

asked the Minister for Health the reason why, in cases when deputations from the nursing services are being received by his Department, the nursing officer of the Department is not necessarily present; and if, in view of the fact that this officer should have a detailed knowledge of the problems of the nursing services, he will ensure that she is present in future when such deputations are being received.

Mr. O'Malley

It is a matter for the head of my Department or other senior officers concerned with arrangements for discussions with deputations to decide what officers of the Department should attend having regard to the matters to be discussed.

The officer mentioned in the question participates in discussions with deputations from nursing organisations when it is considered appropriate that she should do so.
