Vol. 224 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Relations.

28.

asked the Minister for Labour the positive actions he has taken during the recess to improve industrial relations machinery in this country.

If the Deputy is referring to the law on industrial relations, I have been studying carefully the observations which representative bodies have submitted to me on the specific proposals for amendments of the law. I have found areas of disagreement among the various interested parties and if I cannot get fairly general support for the changes proposed to be made in the law, I must advise the Government accordingly so that a decision can be reached as to where the public interest lies.
