Vol. 224 No. 3

Ceisteanna — Questions Oral Answers. - Salary of University Bursars.

36.

asked the Minister for Education the salary at present being paid to the Bursar of University College, Dublin, and the salary of the Bursar of University College, Cork.

The salary, including pensionable allowance, of the Secretary and Bursar, University College, Dublin, is £3,000 per anum. Statute LXI of University College, Dublin, laid on the tables of both Houses of the Oireachtas on 29th June, 1966, proposes to increase this salary to £3,450 as from 1st April, 1966, and to £3,650 as from 1st January, 1967.

The salary scale of the Secretary and Bursar, University College, Cork, is from £2,400 minimum to £3,000 maximum. It is understood that proposals to increase this salary scale are under consideration.

I should like to know if the Minister stated that the salary for the Bursar and Secretary, one man doing two jobs, in Cork, is less than £3,000?

That is correct.
