Vol. 224 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Parking Fines.

11.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Justice what is the total amount of money collected for parking offences in Dublin city for 1965.

Separate statistics are not compiled of fines imposed by the courts for parking offences.

The amount of money collected from "fines on the spot" in the Dublin Metropolitan Garda Area in the calendar year 1965, was £39,247 10s. This area includes most of County Dublin and part of Wicklow but it can be taken that the great bulk of the fine-on-the-spot payments relate to the city proper.

We have a right to our views. I will keep interrupting until I am stopped by the Chair. I think the Chair should have stopped the Minister answering while I was talking. I think the Minister should re-read his reply. I did not hear it. The Minister interrupted me.

I obeyed the Chair.
