Vol. 224 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Transport.

38.

andMrs. Desmond asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the urgent need for transport to secondary schools for children living in remote areas; and if he will take immediate steps to provide such a transport scheme.

I fully appreciate the importance of transport in relation to participation in post-primary education of children living in remote areas. This whole question of State-subsidised transport to post-primary schools is under examination in my Department at present.
