Vol. 225 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Leinster House Extensions.

26.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is expected that the new extensions to Leinster House will be ready for use; their estimated cost; and the expenditure to date.

The five office floors of the new extension were completed and occupied in June last. The new link corridor connecting the first floor of the extension to the landing outside the Dáil Chamber will be completed by the end of this month. The new kitchen and restaurants on the ground floor of the extension will be ready for use in February next.

Apart from the work on the new extension, there are a number of alterations to be done in Leinster House itself. Some of these are already in hands and all should be completed next summer.

The estimated cost of the entire scheme of alterations is £660,000, of which £538,000 has been spent to date.
