Vol. 225 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Non-Contributory Old Age Pensions.

71.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare how many people are in receipt of non-contributory old age pensions; and how many non-contributory old age pensioners have received the 5/- increase provided for in the Budget of 1966-67.

The number in receipt of old age non-contributory pensions at the end of the September quarter was calculated at 111,868. The 5/- increase was granted to 10,090 pensioners.

God forgive you! This was the much publicised 5/- increase to old age pensioners: you ought to be ashamed of yourself. You robbed them.

(Interruptions.)
