Vol. 225 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Income Tax Allowance.

29.

asked the Minister for Finance why a reasonable allowance is not made by the income tax authorities to a man whose daughter (name supplied) had to give up her position in order to care for her invalided mother, instead of the present allowance of only £60.

The Deputy will appreciate that in matters of this nature, the income tax authorities are governed by the provisions of the Finance Acts which fix the personal allowances made to taxpayers.
