Vol. 225 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Walkinstown (Dublin) Development.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government the nature of the additional works which Dublin County Council require the developers of Saint Peter's Road, Walkinstown to carry out before taking the sewers in charge.

I understand that the county council would require the developers to clean out the sewers and repair the manholes before taking the sewers in charge.

Has the Minister any idea of the extent or the cost of the work involved? The roadway in question was completed more than 12 years ago and is it not ludicrous that a public service of such importance as sewerage has not been taken over?

There is no reference to a roadway in the question; it is solely a matter of the sewerage. I do not think there is anything exceptional involved and I am not aware that there have been complaints.

It makes it all the more ridiculous that it has not been taken over.

It will be taken over in due course.
