Vol. 226 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Five-Day Week for Postmen.

5.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether, in view of the fact that a five-day working week is widespread for most categories of workers, he will consider its implementation for postmen throughout the country.

A staff claim for a five-day week for postmen is under consideration by the Departmental Council under the agreed Scheme of Conciliation and Arbitration for the Civil Service. It would be inappropriate for me to comment on the claim while it is under consideration by the Council.
