Vol. 226 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Limerick Water Supply Schemes.

17.

asked the Minister for Local Government the position regarding the extension of the Castleconnell water supply scheme, County Limerick to Newgarden and Lisnagry in respect of which contract documents were submitted to his Department on 18th February, 1966; and when work will commence on this extension.

Contract documents for the Castleconnell Water Supply Extensions Scheme No. 2, which include the extensions referred to, are under consideration in my Department. I am not yet in a position to indicate when approval is likely to issue thereto.

The contract documents were submitted to the Minister's Department on 18th February, 1966. That is a year ago. Could the Minister give the reason for the delay in sanctioning the contract documents?

This scheme is accorded priority No. 12, which is the last place on the Limerick County Council's list of priority schemes. It is preceded by schemes with an aggregate value of £300,000.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position regarding the extension of the Kilbehenny water supply scheme, County Limerick, in respect of which contract documents were submitted to his Department on 7th February 1966; and when work will commence on this scheme.

Contract documents for the Kilbehenny water supply scheme are under consideration in my Department. I am not yet in a position to indicate when approval is likely to issue thereto.
