Vol. 226 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - High Court Appearances.

43.

asked the Minister for Justice if, having regard to the amount of duplicated work in drafting, typing, filing and serving notices of appearance and memoranda of appearance in the High Court, he will have steps taken to incorporate both forms in one.

The forms for the memorandum of appearance and for the notice of entry of appearance are prescribed in the rules of the Superior Courts. I am bringing the Deputy's suggestion to the attention of the Superior Courts Rules Committee.

(Cavan): Does the Minister agree that at least one of them serves no useful purpose?

Indeed I do. If the Superior Courts Rules Committee comes to me with recommendations on the lines suggested by the Deputy, I will concur in them.
