Vol. 226 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Interest on Advances to Nítrigin Éireann Teo.

28.

asked the Minister for Finance the date on which he determined under section 5 (2) of the Nítrigin Éireann Teoranta Act, 1963 the rate of interest to be paid by Nítrigin Éireann Teoranta in respect of each advance made by him to that company.

The interest rate on each advance to Nítrigin Éireann Teoranta was determined on the date on which the advance was made. The relevant dates are given in the reply to the Deputy's question addressed to the Minister for Industry and Commerce on 23rd February, 1967.

What about the rest of the question?

I have answered all that is in the question.

Section 5 (2) deals with more than that.

The Deputy asked me the date on which I determined under section 5 (2) the rate of interest to be paid by Nítrigin Éireann Teoranta.

Did the Minister say "date" or "rate"?

Perhaps I did not hear the reply properly. Would the Minister read it again?

The interest rate on each advance to Nítrigin Éireann Teoranta was determined on the date on which the advance was made.

I am sorry; I thought the Minister said "date".

Two reasonable men.

The Minister is more reasonable than the present Minister for Agriculture. That is certain anyway.

Timeo Danaos.
