Vol. 227 No. 5

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Redundant Workers.

67.

asked the Minister for Labour what progress the employment service of his Department has made in placing in suitable employment the 400 workers that were notified of their impending redundancy by a firm (name supplied) in Finglas, Dublin; and how many of the workers concerned his Department have succeeded in placing in suitable alternative employment to date.

So far, no employee of the firm concerned has been discharged as redundant. The Employment Service of my Department is, however, keeping in close touch with the situation and any worker from the firm who registers at the appropriate employment exchange will be given all possible assistance in finding suitable alternative employment.
