Vol. 227 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milk Price Increase.

32.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what effect the increase of a penny on the gallon of milk will have on the price to the housewife in Dublin.

I understand that an increase of a penny per gallon in producers' prices for milk will necessitate an increase in consumers' prices of ½d per pint for three months in 12.

Would the Minister say whether we should do anything to help large families who would suffer very much from this, by way of increasing children's allowances?

Surely that is a separate question?

Children's allowances are not the function of my Department.
