asked the Minister for Defence if he will state in respect of horses purchased for the Army jumping team within the last year, the names of the horses, from whom they were purchased, and at what price.

During the financial year ended 31st March, 1967, three horses were purchased for the Army Jumping Team. They were named "Darach", "Mullach Mór" and "Lios Cearúill". The first two horses mentioned were purchased from Mr. John J. Costello, Darragh, Ennis, County Clare and the last named from Mr. James Fleming, Moygue, Liscarroll, County Cork.

It is not the practice to disclose the prices paid for horses.
