Vol. 228 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Private Motorists Protection Association.

61.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he has received an application from the Private Motorists Protection Association to enable them to carry on the business of insurance in respect of motor vehicles under the Road Traffic Acts; whether he has come to a decision on it; if so, the nature of the decision; and, if not, when he expects to come to a decision.

I have received an application from the PMPA Insurance Company Limited for a licence to enable them to carry on motor insurance. The application is still being examined in consultation with the company and I expect to reach a decision shortly.
