Vol. 228 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department received an application from Kerry County Council to raise a loan to carry out a piped water scheme at Ballymore, Dingle, County Kerry; and, if so, when it is likely to be sanctioned.

A loan to finance this water supply scheme together with a number of similar schemes was sanctioned by my Department in April, 1964.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position of Dromtariffe (Cool-clough) group water scheme, County Cork.

Tentative proposals for a group water supply scheme for this area have been received in my Department. The intending participants were advised at a meeting last week to have the cash contributions for the scheme collected.

22.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position relating to the Caherdaniel, County Kerry water and sewerage scheme sent to the Department for sanction in September, 1965; and if he is aware of the urgent need of a scheme for this well-known tourist resort.

I would refer the Deputy to replies to questions asked by him on 5th July, 1966, and 5th October, 1966, in this matter. No proposals for water or sewerage schemes to serve Caherdaniel have been submitted to my Department to date.

23.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department received proposals from Kerry County Council in connection with the provision of a sewerage scheme for Ventry, Dingle, County Kerry; and, if so, what is the present position regarding the scheme.

No proposals in this matter have been submitted to my Department to date.

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in view of the urgent need of a sewerage scheme for Killenaule, County Tipperary, there is any likelihood of having the scheme started in the near future.

Contract documents for this scheme were approved by my Department on 16th September, 1966. I understand that Tipperary (South Riding) County Council are at present in process of acquiring the necessary land rights. I am not therefore in a position at present to say when the scheme will start.

25.

asked the Minister for Local Government if Cork County Council have plans for a sewerage scheme at Rathcoole, Mallow, County Cork; and, if so, when this scheme is likely to commence.

I understand that Cork County Council have no immediate plans for a sewerage scheme to serve Rathcoole.

26.

asked the Minister for Local Government if Cork County Council have plans to extend Millstreet sewerage scheme to the houses at Lackabaun; and, if so, when this is likely to take place.

I am informed by Cork County Council that they have no immediate plans for an extension of the Millstreet sewerage scheme to serve Lackabaun.
