Vol. 228 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lighting Concession to Old Age Pensioners.

37.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if it is proposed to give assistance in respect of lighting to old age pensioners who are compelled to use bottled gas or forms of lighting other than electricity in their homes.

It is not proposed to go further in this matter than was announced in the Budget.

I thought the Minister for Finance said yesterday it was.

No; he did not make reference to any new assistance.

But if they have not got electricity, they get nothing at all. Is that not right?

That is right.
