Vol. 228 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Closing of Kerry Schools.

42.

asked the Minister for Education the number of national schools which were closed in Kerry in 1966; and the number he intends to close in 1967 and 1968.

One national school in Kerry was closed in 1966. From present information it would appear that the question of closing nine schools in 1967 will arise. It would be unreasonable to endeavour to give any figure for 1968.

I asked for the names of the schools to be closed, but it was omitted from the question. Why is it not in?

I can only tell the Deputy this is the question which the Minister has in front of him, as it appears on the Order Paper.

All right.
