Vol. 228 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Emergency Ambulance Service.

24.

asked the Minister for Health if he is yet in a position to announce his decision as to whether an emergency ambulance service for the Dublin area should be provided as a result of the four-weeks pilot scheme ended on 22nd March.

The results of the pilot scheme aimed at improving the accident and emergency service in the Dublin hospitals have been considered by my Department and proposals for a permanent scheme have now been put to the Irish Medical Association. After I have received the Association's views, I intend inviting all the Dublin hospitals to discuss with my Department the early implementation of an acceptable scheme.
