Vol. 228 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Forestry Land.

25.

asked the Minister for Lands if, in view of the danger of unemployment at Camolin Forest, County Wexford, he will take all the steps necessary to acquire further land for the purpose of afforestation.

At this forest, and elsewhere in the country, my Department is making every effort to secure additional land for planting. As I stated in reply to the Deputy's question of the 17th May, 1967, it is unfortunate that prospects of acquisition at Camolin forest are not bright. Every effort will be made, however, to maintain staff at its present level for the coming year.
