The plot in question containing about half an acre was being retained for the erection of houses for married members of the Garda Síochána, but the Department of Justice, following a review of the position, have now advised the Commissioners of Public Works that it could be released to the Killarney Urban District Council, for the erection of council houses. The Commissioners are having a valuation of the plot made and immediately this is available they will communicate with the urban district council.
