Vol. 228 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Traffic Control Corps.

15.

asked the Minister for Justice when it is proposed to establish a traffic corps to help the Garda to control traffic in Dublin.

Section 63 of the Road Traffic Bill, which is now at Committee Stage in Dáil Éireann, provides for the appointment of authorised persons to operate the so-called fines-on-the-spot system for parking offences.

Administrative preparations are being made for the appointment, as soon as possible after the enactment of the Bill, of a group of authorised persons, all of whom will initially be allocated to Dublin.
