Vol. 228 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unemployment Assistance.

17.

Mr. McLaughlin

andMr. Reynolds asked the Minister for Social Welfare if a person with a land valuation of £4 will qualify for unemployment assistance for a full 12 months irrespective of whether he was signing for or in receipt of unemployment assistance for the past three years.

As a consequence of the abolition of the annual employment period orders, the duration of a smallholder's entitlement to unemployment assistance will not henceforth be affected by his land valuation irrespective of whether or not he was an applicant for or recipient of unemployment assistance at any time in the past.
