Vol. 229 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ford Car Industry in EEC Conditions.

36.

Mr. Barrett

andMr. Creed asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has given any special consideration to the position of the Ford motor industry in Cork in the event of Ireland being admitted to the EEC; and if he has had consultations with the management and the trade unions involved.

The position of the motor assembly industry as a whole is, of course, being considered in relation to the possible entry of this country into the EEC. Any necessary consultation with interested parties will be undertaken.
