Vol. 229 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Medical Cards for Small Farmers.

44.

asked the Minister for Health whether he will ask health authorities to grant medical cards to small farmers in receipt of unemployment assistance without reference to any means test other than to verify the fact that they are in receipt of assistance.

Mr. O'Malley

I would not be prepared, at this time, to recommend the change in procedure suggested by the Deputy.

Is the Minister aware that these medical cards were promised to small farmers during the Kerry by-election? The Government are not fulfilling their promise now.
