Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Schools.

33.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposal to build a new national school at Caherdaniel, County Kerry; and whether the grant for the project has been sanctioned.

A grant has been sanctioned by my Department towards the cost of the provision of a new school at Caherdaniel, County Kerry. The arrangements for the erection of the school are in the hands of the Commissioners of Public Works and they will be brought to conclusion as quickly as possible.

34.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposal to build a new national school at Saint Gertrude's Loreto Convent, Killarney: and whether the grant for the project has been sanctioned.

Mr. O'Malley

The question of erecting a new central school to replace St. Gertrude's Loreto Convent and Loughguitane school, a small two-teacher school in the same parish, is under consideration in my Department at present. It is hoped to have a decision in the matter shortly. The grant for the new school will then be sanctioned.
