Vol. 230 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Telephone Directory.

2.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that many current telephone directories have fallen asunder because of the inadequacy of binding; and that many telephone subscribers have unsuccessfully applied to his Department for replacement copies and have been informed that no spare copies are available; when the next issue of the directory will be available; and if he will take steps to ensure that it is made up in a form which with reasonable use will last until the next succeeding directory.

The binding of the current issue is considered satisfactory——

Do not say that in Newcastle West.

——only one complaint has been received about it. Replacements for copies that have become unusable through wear and tear have been supplied as required but a number of other requests for additional copies have been refused pending examination of the stock position throughout the country. The next issue of the directory is expected to be available early in January. The existing process of binding will be used in it.
