Vol. 230 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Fund Grants.

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government if it is his intention to restore, in the coming financial year, the serious cuts made in Road Fund grants this year; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that these grant cuts have resulted in the redundancy of roadworkers in some western counties, with a consequent threat to the superannuation entitlements of heretofore regularly employed roadworkers.

It would be premature to make an announcement at this stage on Road Fund grants for the next financial year.

The answer to the second part of the question is "No".
