Vol. 230 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Bridge.

25.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the Curraghmore bridge on the Galway-Headford Road will be replaced; and the date on which this bridge was condemned for heavy traffic.

The matter is one primarily for Galway County Council who are the responsible road authority.

I am not in a position to indicate when this project will be undertaken. I may add, however, that site investigations are being carried out by the engineering staff of the council in consultation with my Department's engineering advisers; these investigations are not yet completed.

The bridge has been subject to weight restrictions since 1962.
