Vol. 231 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Finglas (Dublin) River.

23.

asked the Minister for Local Government the cause of the delay by his Department in sanctioning the project submitted by Dublin Corporation for the improvement of the Finglas river; and if he is now in the position to give the necessary sanction.

I understand that in order to proceed with this proposal, the Corporation would have to acquire portions of private gardens possibly by compulsory purchase order. I will not, therefore, be in a position to convey a decision on this proposal until the necessary land has been acquired by agreement, or until a decision has been given on a compulsory purchase order, if it should arise.
