Vol. 231 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Development.

26.

asked the Minister for Local Government when work will commence on the development of Ferrybank, County Wexford, as a tourist amenity.

It is a matter for Wexford Corporation to arrange for the commencement of work on the Ferry-bank amenity project. The Corporation were informed in July last that a grant towards part I of the scheme, which is to include a caravan park and ancillary works, will be allocated from my Department's scheme of amenity grants as soon as the cost of the works concerned is established. I understand that arrangements for the invitation of tenders for the works are in hands locally. A loan to finance the Corporation's share of the estimated cost of £40,000 has also been approved.

Has the Minister any information as to when work may commence?

The reply says that arrangements for the invitation of tenders for the works are in hands locally. Until that is done, it is impossible to say when works will commence.
