Vol. 231 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospitals Trust Allocations.

46.

asked the Minister for Health the amount of money received over the past five years from Hospitals Trust for hospital building purposes.

The amount expended from the Hospitals Trust Fund on the building, equipment and furnishing of hospitals during the five year period from 1st April, 1962 to 31st March, 1967, was £6,325,466.

Is the amount given by the Hospitals Trust in any year at the discretion of the Trust? Is the amount left to the Hospitals Trust each year?

Is there any minimum requirement in each year, or is it left to whatever turns up from the Hospitals Trust?

Does the Deputy mean the disposition of the actual amount?

Do the Government wait and take whatever comes, or is there any machinery by which they know what to expect in each year?

It is covered by statute.
