Vol. 231 No. 7

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Business in the following order: Nos. 8—Votes 6 to 19, inclusive, and 26—and 1. It is proposed to take No. 1 at the conclusion of Votes 6 to 19. Private Members' Business will be taken from 6 to 7.30 p.m.

I have already given you notice that I intend to raise the subject matter of Question No. 9 on today's Order Paper. In the event of that being determined by you to come under Standing Orders, may I request that the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs himself, who intervened in this matter publicly, will attend to answer for the conduct of his Department?

The Chair will communicate with Deputy Dillon.

The Minister for Posts and Telegraphs is here present and I am asking him now in his presence— he represents the same constituency as I do—to attend and defend his conduct, if he is fit, and I doubt if he is.

I have replied in the local newspapers.

And the Minister's reply is false.

This is the place to make his reply, not in the local newspapers.

The Minister should render an account of his stewardship. He cannot say he was not notified and given a chance.
