Vol. 231 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Keogh Square (Dublin) Dwellings.

13.

(Dublin) asked the Minister for Local Government if it is proposed to demolish the existing dwellings in Keogh Square, Dublin; and what the future plans are for development of this area.

14.

(Dublin) asked the Minister for Local Government how soon Dublin Corporation tenants living in sub-standard dwellings in Keogh Square will be re-housed.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 13 and 14 together.

I understand from Dublin Corporation that the de-tenanting and demolition of dwellings at Keogh Square has been in progress, by stages, for some time and will be proceeded with as rapidly as possible; that, when the site has been cleared, it is intended to redevelop the area for municipal housing; but that it is not at present possible to indicate when all the tenants can be re-housed.
