Vol. 231 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports and Exports.

1.

(South Tipperary) asked the Taoiseach the value of this country's imports and exports over the past 12 months; and the value of imports from and exports to the non-devalued countries over the past 12 months.

In the 12 months ended 30th September, 1967 imports were valued at £390.9 million of which £162.4 million was in respect of imports from countries which did not devalue their currencies in the past month. Total exports in the same period amounted to £276.6 million, of which £70.5 million was to countries which have not devalued.

According to these figures, 35 per cent come from countries that have not devalued. May we take it all these goods will be increased in price.

Four per cent of gross national product.
