This proposal was received in my Department on 2nd August last and has been under examination, in conjunction with a proposal to dispose of portion of the same land for use as a burial ground, which involves the holding of an inquiry. I am advised that, because of legal difficulties, a decision in regard to the disposal of the land for building sites should not be given pending the holding of the inquiry.
