Vol. 233 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Purchase of Timber.

97.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will comment on the case of a person in County Tipperary (name supplied) who arranged to purchase timber from the Forestry Branch of his Department some two years ago paying a deposit of £120 and who, as yet, has neither received the timber nor a refund of deposit; why the timber was not supplied; whether the timber has subsequently been sold elsewhere; whether the Forestry Branch still holds the deposit; and, what steps will be taken to rectify the matter.

As the Deputy was informed in a reply of 3rd November, 1966, no contract of sale subsists in this case. The timber in question has been sold. The person named has refused on three occasions to accept the return of his deposit of £120. He is aware that payment will be made on his making application.
