Vol. 234 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Bed Bureau Service.

24.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that in a recent case (details supplied) the Bed Bureau in Dublin informed a doctor that there was no bed available for a patient, particularly in Saint Kevin's Hospital; and that within ten minutes a doctor's receptionist was informed on direct inquiry at the hospital that there was an available bed; if he will make a statement in the matter; and if steps will be taken to ensure that the Bed Bureau furnishes a more satisfactory service based upon accurate information.

The inquiries which it has been possible to make have not fully clarified the position. When these inquiries have been completed, I will inform the Deputy of the outcome.
