Vol. 234 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Capitation Grants for Deaf Pupils.

53.

asked the Minister for Health the reason for the differential in the capitation grant to be paid to female deaf pupils at St. Mary's School for the Deaf and to male deaf pupils at St. Joseph's School for the Deaf, Cabra, Dublin.

Capitation rates for these schools are calculated to cover running expenses as ascertained from financial statements supplied to my Department. Separate rates related to the average costs per pupil were fixed with effect from 1st April last at the request of the authorities of the schools.
