Vol. 235 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Telephone Installations.

2.

(Dublin South-Central) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of telephones installed in Dublin city and county in the last year for which figures are available and the number of applications outstanding.

Telephone subscribers' lines are recorded under the exchanges with which they are connected and this form of record does not, I regret, enable the information on the lines sought by the Deputy to be furnished. The particulars for the Dublin Exchange area which also includes parts of Counties Meath, Kildare and Wicklow are as follows:

Number of installations for 12 months ended 31st May, 1968

9,100

Outstanding applications at 31st May, 1968

3,150
