Vol. 235 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Pension Book.

16.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if the British Ministry of Pensions requested his Department to make an arrangement whereby the British social security pension book of a person (name supplied) which formerly was sent directly to the payee is now sent to the postmaster, Cork, where it must be collected by the payee; if his Department agreed to such an arrangement; and, if so, why.

The arrangement is a general one recently introduced by the British Ministry of Social Security for the issue of renewal pension books. My Department agreed to the arrangement but have no function in the matter other than to act as distributing and paying agent.
